Ubuntu - TTY - Access a TTY Session
Press Alt-F1,Alt-F2 up to Alt-F6.
From a desktop to get to the terminal consoles, press CTRL-ALT-F1 through F6
CTRL-Alt-F7 usually returns to the GUI, i.e. XWindows.
