Option 1

  • Backup the configs of the old controller.
  • Restore the configs to the new controller.

Option 2

  • SSH into the AP with username & password of the previous controller.
  • Reset the AP with this command:
    syswrapper.sh restore-default
  • Reconnect using SSH to the AP with default credentials ubnt/ubnt.
  • Tell the AP the IP of the new controller:
    mca-cli shell

  • Logon to new controller and verify that the AP has been adopted.

NOTE: The SSH session will automatically exit once the device has been adopted by the controller.
