Chess - Programming - Endgame Table-Bases

Endgame Table-bases allow perfect play, both with and without the fifty-move drawing rule.

  • They allow winning all won positions and bringing all drawn positions over the fifty-move line.
  • For example in ending with KRvK.

Due to the huge size of these tablebases, they are usually limited to only the last few remaining end-games, with up to 7 pieces.

  • The 7-piece tablebase contains 423,836,835,667,331 unique legal positions in about 18 Terabytes.
