ZFS - Snapshots

A ZFS snapshot is a read-only copy of ZFS file system or volume.

• It can be used to save the state of a ZFS file system at a point of time, and one can roll back to this state at a later date.
• One can even extract files from a snapshot and not need to perform a complete roll back.
